Celebrate the life of Las Vegas’ first therapy cat, Aliah

Aliah, a gorgeous Oriental Shorthair, was the first therapy cat in Las Vegas and set the bar for all those who followed.

Aliah worked for several years and showed everyone that the best “dog” for the job can be a cat!

She loved being cuddled and held and walked so beautifully on her pink harness and leash.
She would snuggle into a warm spot on a lap and never waiver from her post.

Her bond with her owner, Dayna, was incredibly strong. Dayna and her husband Bruce have several cats but there was something about Aliah they knew would make a superb therapy cat. And she never disappointed.

Dayna and Aliah passed their first Pet Partner evaluation and a renewal before it was time for Aliah to retire. The feline evaluation is quite extensive and Aliah performed every one of the twenty+ elements perfectly.

Aliah loved working with the elderly and really enjoyed her visits when she had one or more dogs along with her. She and Kirby would share the stroller and she never was jealous if clients wanted to see KC first. After all KC was so much larger and dog people are just dog people! But even the more die hard dog people loved Aliah.

She was only ten years old when she passed away this week … it is thought she had a stroke very suddenly. We all send our sincerest condolences to her family of humans and felines and thank her for being the finest cat ever.
