San Francisco - After the turkey has been carved and the bellies have been filled, start your Holiday season off right by making your way to the Macy's 20th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony in Union Square this Friday, November 27 @ 6:00 pm. 

Macy's will gift the City of San Francisco with a majestic Christmas tree, " an 85-foot Shasta White Fir from the Carlton Tree Farm in Mount Shasta will be adorned with thousands of twinkling lights and 1,500 red and gold ornaments." In the spirit of giving, Macy's has bestowed the UCSF Children's Hospital as beneficiary of the event. All of the proceeds will go directly to the UCSF Children's Hospital's palliative care program, which supports families whose children have life-threatening illnesses. All it takes is $5 to sponsor a light bulb. Santa, choirs, and Holiday Merriment will also be present.
