Earth Week begins today and ends next Thursday, April 22, which is Earth Day. There will be events happening all over the city in celebration of Earth Week, and most of them are free! Here are just a few you can enjoy:
- Eat = Earth A Farmers Market event with a focus on sustainable foods will be held on Saturday, April 17, from 9 a.m. - 1 p.m., in Republic Square Park. There will be tastings, kids' activities and live music. A $10 donation is suggested, to benefit Urban Roots.
- Family Day at McKinney Roughs A free Earth Day festival with music, food and fun for the whole family will be held at McKinney Roughs State Park on Saturday, April 17 from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Twilight Hike along Barton Creek
- A one mile hike along the Barton Creek Greenbelt is offered on Monday, April 19, from 6 - 7:30 p.m. The hike is free but you must pre-register.
- Film Screening of The Garden Austin Film Festival presents this free screening of the Oscar nominated documentary on Tuesday, April 20 at 7:30 p.m., at Texas Spirit Theater in the Bob Bullock Museum. Please RSVP if you plan to attend.
- Earth Day Festival This family friendly festival will be held on Wednesday, April 21 at the Triangle (4600 Guadalupe Steet) from 4 - 8:00 p.m. There will be live music and Green Art for kids at this free Earth Day Expo.
