Jensen Ackles, most known for playing Dean Winchester on “Supernatural,” turns 35 years old today (March 1)!
Jensen Ackles began his TV career by guest starring on a few different TV shows. In the late 90s, the actor appeared in episodes of “Wishbone,” “Sweet Valley High,” “Mr. Rhodes,” and “Cybill.”
Ackles then landed a role on NBC’s popular daytime soap, “Days of Our Lives.” He played Eric Brady from 1997 to 2000. For his role on the soap, he was nominated three times (in 1998, 1999, and 2000) for the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series.
In 2001, Ackles appeared on “Dark Angel,” as Ben/X5-493, a serial killer and ‘brother’ to Jessica Alba’s Max/X5-452. (SPOILER ALERT) Though his character died, Ackles was later able to return to the show as a series regular. He played Ben’s clone, Alec/X5-494.
The actor was then cast in the recurring role of C.J. during the final season of The WB’s “Dawson’s Creek.” He followed this role with one on “Smallville.” He played Jason Teague, a love interest to Lana Lang (Kristin Kreuk), throughout the show’s fourth season.
The talented man accepted a leading role on The WB’s “Supernatural” in 2005. He plays Dean Winchester, one half of a pair of brothers who fight against supernatural evil. The show became wildly popular and is currently airing its eighth season. Catch the show Wednesdays at 9 on The CW!
