The fact of the matter is, if you have only had the unfortunate occurrence of shoving that slop known as processed BBQ sauce into your jowls, you have never tasted real BBQ sauce. You have tasted falsely sweetened chemicals laced in a gluten-enriched something resembling ketchup sauce.
A true BBQ sauce is a well thought-out recipes. It should only be made with pure and natural ingredients and created to glaze under intense heat (the grill, the broiler, an open flame). It should have a marriage of flavors which makes your tongue take notice and your lips smack. It can be hot or mild. It can be sweet or savory.
At Casa de Cuisine we get a lot of comments on our homemade BBQ sauce. We make it in small batches every day. After it is cooked, yes cooked, we then chill it for a day to bring out even more of its natural flavors.
This recipe is very simple and only takes a few minutes. If you are the type who likes to add bourbon, whiskey or tequila to your BBQ sauce, do so after the sauce has been cooked and you will retain the taste of the alcohol of your choosing.
