So what exactly is Cakeway to the West? A public art exhibit, history lesson and scavenger hunt all in one! There are 250 birthday cakes placed throughout the metropolitan area at various museums, STL favorite spots, attractions, restaurants and more. Each fiberglass cake stands four feet tall and is hand painted to reflect the business or attraction where it is displayed. The cakes are located in 15 counties between Missouri and Illinois.

The best part? It's completely free! All of the cakes are publicly accessible - ready and waiting for you and your fellow scavenger hunters to pose for your best selfie next to the delectable works of art. So what are you waiting for? Grab your friends, girlfriend, hubby, kids, whomever you think will make the best cake hunting team...and find those cakes! The full list of cake locations is available here: www.stl250.org/cake-leaderboard.aspx and a social media app is rumored to be coming soon.
