Ethnic food lovers looking for fun in the Dallas Metroplex this weekend need look no further than the 10th annual German Frühling Fest this Sunday at GermanDeli European Food Store. Frühling means Spring in German, and this annual German Spring festival is sure to be fun for the whole family. There will be a variety of German foods and other ethnic European foods to sample.
Adults can take advantage of German beer samples and partake of the Frühlingsbowle, a German Spring punch. Kids will have plenty of fun, too, with special kid's games, face painting and prizes. Mentalist Joe Riggs will be on hand to amuse and amaze the crowd. If you haven't seen the CBS hit show The Mentalist Mr. Riggs describes a mentalist as "a mind-reader who uses genuine intuition, pre-cognition, advanced psychology and more to read people. "
New to the Frühling Fest this year is a Flohmarkt, a German style flea market. If your idea of a good time includes plenty of shopping, you are in luck. The Flohmarkt at Frühling Fest will feature German or European books, music, movies, artwork, linens, textiles, china, porcelain, kitchenware, collectibles, beer steins or glasses, Dirndl, Lederhosen, vintage clothing, toys, games, holiday decorations and more. GermanDeli says "If it's "Made in Germany" or Europe we are interested!" The vendor deadline has passed, but the German Flohmarket still might have a stall or two available.
Bratwurst will be on sale for a mere $2 a piece, and if your wurst of choice is a frankfurter, you can buy an all-beef hot dog for a buck. And check out GermanDeli's European Food Store, where you can buy all sorts of German food products, as well as other European ethnic foods and beverages. GermanDeli also sells German and European cookware, kitchen items, housewares, cookbooks, magazines, books, DVDs, clothing and more. If you do not live in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, GermanDeli European Food Store also sells its extensive inventory online through its GermanDeli online store.
The 10th annual German Frühling Fest will be held Sunday, May 16th from noon to 5 pm in the parking lot of GermanDeli European Food Store, 5100 State Highway 121, Colleyville, TX 76034. (See map below.)
