Celebrate Ringo Starr's birthday with a $5 Beatles movie!

Fifty years ago today, July 6, 1964 Ringo Starr celebrated his 24th birthday with his Beatles band-members at the premier of their film “A Hard Days Night”. The film featured the Paul McCartney, John Lennon, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr in a sort of comical rockumentary. Today the Enzion Theatre, home to the Florida Film Festival will be presenting this classic films 50th Anniversary reissue—4K Digital Restoration at 1;00 PM for only $5.00! The film is being featured as part of their KidFest Summer Film Series which play for FREE on weekdays and $5 on weekends.

As with most projects connected to the Fab Four the film was a critical success garnering an Oscar nomination for best screenplay and best score. The film was produced in 16 weeks under the United Artists label in a black and white cinéma vérité style . It was made with a very low budget of only £200,000 which equaled about $500,000 USD and filming finished taping in under seven weeks. The film also featured some of the bands biggest hits which were released four days later on “A Hard Day's Night” and topped the charts grossing over $20,000 in the first week alone.
