What do you do for the kids on New Year’s Eve? Most parties seem to be geared towards adults and their adult activities including late hours and consuming adult beverages.

Indianapolis offers events that are designed for kid friendly New Year’s Eve celebrations. The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is offering a marvelous and clever event for the kids on the afternoon of December 31st. The Countdown to Noon begins at the very reasonable hour of ten o’clock in the morning.

The Children’s Museum features an intriguing Water Clock that becomes the centerpiece for this kid geared event. Noise makers and party hats are available while supplies last. Crafts are planned, and the kids get to go through the excitement of a real countdown of the Water Clock to the noon hour. Tickets are $13.50 for youth (age 2 – 17), $18.50 for adults and $17.50 for seniors (60 +).

The Indiana State Museum is also offering a kids oriented New Year’s Eve celebration on December 31st. Beginning at 6:00 p.m. this party will feature several exciting activities for the kids. Stilt walkers will perform their feats of balance for all. Face painting, a tried and true kid favorite, will be offered. Clowns will bring laughter and smiles to all in attendance. Live music rounds out the entertainment.

The Indiana State Museum celebration is going to be held in the spacious Governor Frank O’Bannon Great Hall. The countdown will culminate with a massive balloon drop at 8:00 p.m. Kids can experience a fun New Year’s Eve event. Admission to the museum is $7.00 for members and $13.00 for non-members.
