Zooey Deschanel, who currently plays Jess on FOX’s “New Girl,” turns 33 years old today (January 17)!
In 2011, Zooey Deschanel was cast as Jess on Fox’s “New Girl.” The show centers on the character as she moves into a new apartment with three men as roommates. Now in its second season, “New Girl” continues to score laughs Tuesdays at 9. Thus far, the role has earned the actress two Golden Globe nominations, along with one Emmy nomination.
Before she hit it big on TV, the actress starred in several movies. Her most well-known films include “Elf,” “(500) Days of Summer” (one of this examiner’s favorite movies), “Yes Man,” "Our Idiot Brother," and “Almost Famous.”
The blue eyed beauty did have some previous experience with TV before “New Girl,” though. In 2006 she was cast as Kat on Showtime’s “Weeds” and in 2009 she guest starred on “Bones,” a show that stars her own sister, Emily Deschanel!
