Sunday, November 3 is National Sandwich Day. Burke's Bacon Bar is a wonderful locale to celebrate with a bacon-centric sandwich. The restaurant located in Chicago's James Hotel is a bacon lovers paradise. Chef David Burke and Executive Chef Rick Gresh have created three new mini sandwiches or “handwiches” that will satisfy even the most serious bacon cravings. This chef duo are innovating new ways to share their bacon infatuation.
In addition to menu favorites like Five Duck Spice, Beef N' Cheddar and the River North Bacon Dog, the three new mini sandwiches are a great way to satisfy the bacon craving in a quick, small bite. Here are the three new offerings.
Bacon Burger- bacon and beef patty, jalapeno jack cheese, peppered bacon, on a Kings Hawaiian bun
Created to be a bacon lover’s true bacon burger, the bacon is conveniently mixed in the beef for an even bigger bacon taste. The handwich is topped with peppered bacon and spicy jack cheese to give it an extra kick.
CBLT- thick cut bacon, lettuce, tomato, cheddar, bacon mayo, on a Kings Hawaiian bun
Chef Burke and Chef Gresh’s take on the classic BLT sandwich. The handwich version, or CBLT, includes bacon cooked pork belly style and is sliced over ½ inch thick.
Bacon & Eggs- egg salad, bacon, romaine, on a baguette
Bacon and eggs is a perfect match for breakfast but luckily can continue all day (and night) long. This new handwich features classic egg salad garnished with bacon and crispy lettuce.
Burke's Bacon Bar is located at 610 N. Rush Street.
