Nothing screams summer more than hot dogs and suds! Capitol City Brewing Company at Shirlington Village is dressing up these seasonal favorites by celebrating both National Root Beer Float Day (August 6) and National Bratwurst Day (August 16) with specialty-themed items on each “holiday.” The delicious Root Beer Float treat made with homemade root beer and vanilla ice cream will be served all day for only $5. For a more grown up version, guests can try the Porter Float made with Capitol City’s own Prohibition Porter for $7 or with Jägermeister, Stoli Vanilla, Kahlua or Crown Royal for $9.
For National Bratwurst Day, Capitol City will offer a Brat & Beer Platter Combo for $20. Two scrumptious bratwursts cooked in a Porter marinade with a choice of one topping (sautéed peppers & onions, sauerkraut, swiss cheese or red cabbage kraut), choice of two sides (brew fries, seasonal vegetables, smashed potatoes, coleslaw or rice), and a choice of one core beer (Capitol Kolsch, Amber Waves, Pale Rider or Prohibition Porter).
About Capitol City Brewing Company
In 1992, Capitol City Brewing Company opened its doors as the first brewpub in the nation's capital since Prohibition, giving its citizens and many visitors the freedom to enjoy some of the finest handcrafted beer in the country. On the front of the menu is the Lady Freedom, a statue found atop our namesake, the United States Capitol.
Our dedicated brewers use only the highest quality hops, yeast and select malt to brew many of the world's great ales and lagers. Capitol City’s state-of-the-art craft brewing system is located in our Arlington, VA restaurant, where our talented brewers closely monitor each phase of the brewing process and provide beer within hours of completion, fresh and locally made.
