Celebrate National Physical Fitness Month with Joe De Sena

Today Joe De Sena, Queens native and founder of Spartan Race, will challenge New Yorkers to a series of workout sessions at the Reebok CrossFit Fifth Ave. This fitness activity will allow participants to go toe-to-toe with Joe to help celebrate the May 2014 launch of his new book SPARTAN UP! A Take-No-Prisoners Guide to Overcoming Obstacles and Achieving Peak Performance in Life and National Physical Fitness Month.

The first group to accept the challenge are 25 students from the Pathways to Graduation program. Pathways to Graduation is a citywide program dedicated to providing students, ages 18 to 21, with the tools necessary to earn their High School Equivalency Diploma and provides support for college and career success. Spartan Race stands for pushing through adversity, changing your frame of reference, and personal transformation – a credo that exemplifies what the Pathways to Graduation students are doing.

Full day includes:

  • From 12 to 2:30 p.m., Joe will lead Lunchtime Heats: 20-minute Express Workouts, Spartan-style, and sign books.
  • Attendees will receive a free, limited edition Spartan Up! t-shirt and a special discount on a Reebok Club Gym membership.
