After weeks of record heat, Kansas City is finally experiencing the sort of cool, comfortable weather that makes everyone head for the deck or patio to relax. And it's just in time for a great summertime celebration, National Lemonade Day. And just in time for National Lemonade Day, we have two great recipes perfect for the occasion
- 1½ oz vodka
- ½ oz Chambord
- 3 oz sugar free lemonade
Shake ingredients with ice and strain into a tall glass.
Garnish with fresh berries or a lemon.
Blueberry Mint Lemonade
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup lightly packed fresh mint leaves
- 1 cup fresh lemon juice
- 1 1/2 cup cold water
- 1 pkg. (6 ounces) Driscoll's Blueberries
- 1 cup ice cubes
- Seltzer water (optional)
Combine sugar, water and mint leaves in a small saucepan.
Bring to a simmer and stir until sugar dissolves. Remove from heat and let cool.
Strain mint syrup into a tall pitcher. Stir in lemon juice and water.
Fill 4 tall glasses with ice cubes and top with one-fourth of the blueberries.
Add mint lemonade and top with seltzer water, if desired.
Lighten Up Tip : Lighten up the recipe by substituting sugar-free sweetener in place of sugar.
