All February is National Grapefruit Month. Grapefruit are wonderful fruit that have many health properties. During the moth of February try some grapefruit with your children. There are many different recipes to choose from, try a few the health benefits are worth it.
Grapefruit are chock full of antioxidants and Vitamin C. Grapefruit can improve your immune system, which is especially helpful during this treacherous flu season. Grapefruit can even help prevent diseases like cancer, heart disease, and even strokes. Another awesome reason to try grapefruit with your children is they are cholesterol and fat free, which makes them a great snack and fruit choice. Try this grapefruit smoothie recipe!
Ingredients:
1 cup Grapefruit Juice or Juice Drink, any flavor
1 cup fresh or canned pineapple chunks (if canned, drain first)
1/2 cup vanilla frozen yogurt
Directions:
Put all ingredients into a blender. Cover and blend on high speed until ingredients are thoroughly combined.
Makes 1 serving.
