Hello fellow partiers! With all the beautiful weather we're experiencing, do you really need a reason to celebrate? Of course you do! Today, July 19 is National Daiquiri Day and then Tuesday, July 22 is National Hammock Day. Two perfect summer celebrations back to back? Can it get better than this? Definitely, if you celebrate with Cruzan® Rum.

Daiquiris are the quintessential summer drink so of course it deserves its own day. While the frozen daiquiri varies slightly from the original popularized by Ernest Hemingway, it still has the honor of being called the grandfather of all blended cocktail recipes, as the frozen daiquiri was first mentioned in a recipe book written by Fred Waring, the inventor of the blender. Cruzan® Rum Master Mixologist Jesse Card has created the perfect Cruzan® Sunset Daiquiri along with homemade passion fruit syrup. If you prefer your daiquiri to be more 'authentic' try the Cruzan® Passionway Daiquiri.

Ready to enjoy your special summer holidays with Cruzan Rum? Here are the recipes for the Cruzan® Sunset Daiquiri, the Cruzan® Passionway Daiquiri and lastly the Cruzan® Summer Sway.

Cruzan® Sunset Daiquiri

Ingredients:

3 parts Cruzan® Aged Dark Rum

2 parts Passion fruit syrup

1/2 part fresh lemon juice

1/4 part Grenadine

Method:

Add all ingredients to a blender with ice. Blend until smooth. Pour into a hurricane glass. Garnish with a cherry.

Passion Fruit Syrup

Ingredients:

12 parts white sugar

10 parts water

8 ripe Passion fruits

Method:

Cut passion fruit in half and scoop out the juice, pulp & seeds into your sauce pot. Add the sugar and lightly muddle to combine. Add the water and stir cold, until sugar is mostly dissolved. Bring to a soft boil while stirring continuously then reduce to low heat for three minutes. Fine strain & chill.

Cruzan® Passionway Daiquiri

Ingredients:

2 parts Cruzan® Passion Fruit Rum

1/2 part fresh squeezed lime

1/4 part fresh squeezed grapefruit juice

1/4 part DeKuyper® Cherry Liqueur

1/4 part rich simple syrup (2 parts sugar, 1 part water)

Thin lime wheel garnish

Method: Combine all ingredients in a shaker over ice and shake vigorously for 10 seconds.

Cruzan® Summer Sway

Ingredients:

1 1/2 parts Cruzan® Peach Rum

2 1/2 parts Sparkling wine

2 1/2 parts Soda water

1 Lime wedge

1 Strawberry

Method:

Squeeze lime wedge into a wine glass and drop in along with a sliced strawberry. Add remaining ingredients and stir. Fill with ice.
