Childrens Book Week
 Lincoln Public Libraries celebrates
 National Children's Book Week

Children's Book Week, sponsored by the Children's Book Council, is being celebrated May 10 - 16, 2010.

Join Lincoln City Libraries in observing this national celebration of books and the love of reading at a family storytime on Thursday, May 13, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Williams Branch Library, 5000 Mike School Street (enter off of NW 48th & W Cuming St.).

Dig out your feather boas, your cowboy boots, your fancy tiaras or firefighter helmets and join the library in making crafts and reading stories about children who like to dress up. Caregivers are also welcome to join in the fun.

Since 1919, Children's Book Week has been celebrated nationally in schools, libraries, bookstores, clubs, private homes -- any place where there are children and books.

Barnes & Noble in Lincoln will celebrate Children's Book Week with a Children's Storytime Monday at 10:30 a.m. and a Young Readers event on Friday, May 14, from 4-7 p.m. A celebration to mark the end of Children's Book Week will be held during the same hours. The event includes five scavenger hunts, a make your own bookmark station and ThinkFun games.
