It's National Burger Day, time to head to the store and buy some of that yummy pink slime and get ready to fire up the grills!
Out here in the West when it comes to burgers we don't include that fake crap sold at McDeath or Jack Full O'Crap. When we pass by a fastfood denzion of death, we say a silent prayers for the idiots eating there and then we giggle. Face the facts, those places wouldn't know ground beef from day old chicken poop!
Now there is nothing wrong with slapping some hamburgers on the grill and giving it a shake or two of salt and pepper. Though when you do that you then usually load the bun up with ketchup, mayo, mustard, steak sauce, onions, tomatoes... oh hell, why do you even put the damn beef on the bun if you don't want to taste it?
Out here in the West we want to taste the damn beef. This is a new recipe we came up with for this grilling season and we kind of like it. It has a taste of Asia, yet you won't lose the taste of the ground beef, or if you're lucky enough, the lovely pink slime.
Ingredients needed to make Grilled Asian Burgers (serves 2):
- 1/2 pound ground beef (or pink slime)
- 1 tsp. hoisin sauce
- 1 tsp. oyster sauce
- 1 tsp. soy sauce
- 4 slices sourdough French bread or hamburger buns
- Place all the ingredients into a medium bowl and mix together.
- Divide the ground beef in half and form into a hamburger patty to fit your bread.
- Let the ground beef rest a few minutes.
- Pre-heat your grill or grill pan over medium heat.
- Place the ground beef onto the grill and cook to desired doneness.
- Remove from the pan, place on the bread and pig-out!
