Feb. 9 is National Bagel Day, and across America, businesses are giving free bagels.

The baker of America’s number one selling bagel, Thomas’ is giving out 100,000 samples of Bagels and Bagel Thins. The tasty treats will be distributed through local market events, and you can enter to win through sweepstakes on its Facebook page. When you enter the sweepstakes, it’s for a chance to win coupons for a free package of Thomas’ bagels or the grand prize of a trip to 1 of 6 featured bagel cities.

At the participating Thomas’ locations, not only will you get a free bagel, but you can visit their kiosk for other free items like coffee mugs. Also, take advantage of learning more about the history of Thomas,’ and also the bagel.

Bagels are mostly identified by the round shape and dense and chewy texture. It’s believed to have been around since the sixteenth century, and it is popular in the U.S., Canada, and U.K. The best part, it can be eaten in a variety of ways including fresh or frozen, and it can be accompanied with lox, meat, cream cheese, and a just about anything that you can imagine. There’s no rule to eating a bagel!
