Update: Due to weather conditions, Block's will be closed on Sunday. Look for this event next year!

Here's a great place in SE Portland to celebrate Bagels and Lox. Block’s turns a regular old bagel into a brunch classic by topping it with house-cured gravlax, capers, onions, tomato, cucumber and of course cream cheese for their Bagel and Lox Platter.

This revered combination has a whole day in its honor, National Bagel and Lox Day on Sunday, Feb. 9. In celebration of this scrumptious day, Block’s will complete the perfect brunch meal by giving away a free coffee or tea and a freshly baked cinnamon walnut Rugelach with apricot plum filling with every Bagel and Lox Platter purchase from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Block’s is a family-friendly, neighborhood café on SE Clinton St. Owner Shana Lane-Block pulls inspiration for the décor and menus from her family and history to prepare simply prepared, deli inspired, fresh comfort food menu items. Lane-Block remains committed to sourcing ingredients from some of Portland’s best local farmers and artisans and offering a seasonally focused menu with house made items such as house-brined and roasted turkey, house-made chicken sausage patties, house-cured gravlax and fresh baked breads and pastries.

Located on Southeast Portland’s up-and-coming Clinton Street, Block’s is the perfect neighborhood café. All day breakfast and lunch are served in the café, with an extensive kid’s menu and a grab-and-go market available. Dinner take out is also offered for a last minute meal.
