Celebrate Mother's Day with De Real Ting and De Real Ting Sidewalk Cafe

Looking to add a Caribbean flair to your Mother’s Day weekend plans? Celebrate with De Real Ting Café and their sister establishment, De Real Ting Sidewalk Café.

On Saturday, May 8, Mixmaster Prince, and D.J. Pete of Jacksonville, along with D.J. Slaughter from West Palm Beach will be serving up the best in classic and contemporary reggae and hip-hop music at De Real Ting Café. Doors open at 9 p.m. but frequent patrons know that the party doesn’t get into full effect until nearly midnight. However, in honor of Mother’s Day, all mothers get in free before 12 and drink free until 11 p.m. In order to take advantage of these specials, mothers must show a picture of their children at the door.  Partygoers can be almost certain to hear a few of the numerous reggae songs honoring mothers, including the popular tune by Mavado, "Mama's Love"  (see video below).

After partying into the early morning, mothers will be honored on Sunday, May 9, at De Real Ting Sidewalk Café. They will be serving a special Mother’s Day buffet, which will include traditional Caribbean cuisine such as oxtails and curry chicken.

De Real Ting Café is located in downtown Jacksonville at 128 W. Adams St. For more information, including VIP reservations, call 904-633-9738. De Real Ting Café is in Arlington at 6850 Arlington Expressway. For reservations, call 904-446-9777.
