Celebrate Mary Jane’s birthday and more at the Winter Park Winter Carnival

If you’re a Colorado ski aficionado, you love Mary Jane, whose birthday will be front and center as part of the annual Winter Park Winter Carnival and Mary Jane Birthday Bash, presented by Sprint. The Carnival and Birthday Bash will be held in both the town of Winter Park and at Winter Park Resort /Mary Jane Mountain as part of the 100th anniversary celebration of skiing in Grand County.

Winter Park Chamber of Commerce and Winter Park Resort will hold three days of activities, contests and giveaways, Jan. 20-22, which is just one weekend of the six weeks of community activities. New this year is the Wine Celebration Dinner at The Lodge at Sunspot on Friday, Jan. 20, benefitting the National Sports Center for the Disabled (NSCD).

Winter Park Resort will host Mary Jane's Birthday Bash with daily events, including free bump tips, a snow sculpture contest, live music, and an Après Ski birthday cake outside of the Club Car, on the Mary Jane base, at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 21.

This year, Winter Park Resort is changing the Mary Jane Look-a-Like Contest a little bit. Instead of competing for being the best to dress like Mary Jane, everyone wins. Anyone dressed like Mary Jane on Friday and Saturday gets $1 Mary Jane Ale's and $3 Jager specials. The Winter Park-Fraser Valley Chamber of Commerce will carry the celebration into Saturday evening with a Main Street parade, fireworks and family fun activities.

Winter Park Resort will add a new event to the Winter Park Winter Carnival and Mary Jane’s Birthday Bash event calendar. On Friday, Jan. 20, a Wine Celebration Dinner at The Lodge at Sunspot will feature Robert Mondavi Winery Napa wines, with proceeds going to the National Sports Center for the Disabled.

Robert Mondavi representatives will be on-site to present the wines. The five-course meal is paired with some of the finest wines and is a fitting way to celebrate a century of snow sports in Colorado.

Tickets are $125 with limited seating. Reservations are available by calling 970.726.1446 with group discounts available. For lodging information, call 800.979.0332.
