Celebrate Labor Day with new fun at Houston Museum of Natural Science

Houstonians are lucky to have wonderful museums like our Museum of Natural Science. I spent the day they on Friday and fully enjoyed some new finds that many would enjoy this Labor Day or during a future visit to the museum.

Rather appropriately for this month the museum has debuted a new show at the Burke Baker Planetarium called Force 5. This presentation takes you into natures worst tornados, hurricanes and solar flares. I enjoyed the time lapse map that shows the 2005 Hurricane season, the worst season in recorded time where our Gulf was home to super storms like Katrina and Rita. Relive the disasters of Ike and the 1900 Hurricane that forever changed the historic path of Galveston.

The IMAX at the Houston Museum of Natural Science is also showing a new show that I found to bring both knowledge and humor to my museum experience. Experience Alaska, the newest IMAX adventure at the museum. Fly over the breath-taking landscape, watch how animals survive both the challenges of life that the land brings and laugh out loud as even the most feared animals of this land take time to play. Alaska on IMAX will soon be a family favorite at the museum.
