Today marks the celebration holiday called “Kiss and Make Up Day!” What exactly does this little holiday mean to you? It is a day to set time aside to forgive and forget all the little things that have been eating away at you from a loved one or close friend.
Life is short and holding a grudge can let many good times slip away. Think about what those disagreements were really all about, why you held a grudge so long and decide whether your pride, relationship or friendship is worth holding onto a silly spat or not.
Most likely the real reason things got out of hand can’t even be remembered. It is worth losing a friendship over? Is your relationship with a boyfriend, girlfriend or spouse worthy of making amends regardless of who was to blame originally? Life goes on whether things flow smoothly or not. Isn’t it better when everyone agrees feels liked and loved and is on the same page.
So forget those trivial arguments and move on to bigger and better times together. Saying “you’re sorry” is two little words that don’t take much energy to pronounce. Apologize and send your heartfelt message to your loved one. It is time to kiss and make up.
Ways to say you’re sorry:
- First is to just say it. It isn’t hard but you really have to mean it or the words are worthless.
- Purchase a card or create one yourself and tell your significant other just how you feel.
- Grab a bouquet of flowers and deliver them yourself to break the ice before you talk about your feelings that the argument was silly but you are more important than what we quarreled about.
- Prepare a special or favorite meal to show that there aren’t any hard feelings.
- Kiss and make up!
Happy Kiss and Make Up Day!
