Celebrate Great Food and Whiskey for a Good Cause during Portland Whiskey Week

From May 3-10, 2014, whiskey aficionados and foodies will converge for Portland Whiskey Week (PWW). The week-long event kicks off on May 3rd with several opportunities to participate in educational and delectable whiskey experiences paired with 4 and 5 course dinners. Among the dining offerings during this week include a Kentucky Bourbon Dinner at Hall Street Grill (5/3/14), a whiskey brunch at BRIX Tavern (5/4/14), a Nikka Japanese Whisky Dinner at Clyde Common (5/5/14), a Japanese Whisky Dinner at Smallwares (5/6/14), a Scotch Dinner at Morton’s Steakhouse (5/7/14), and a Sazerac Whiskey Dinner at Simpatica (5/8/14),

In addition to enjoying a singular eating adventure, attendees will be contributing to a greater cause. All of the proceeds from these whiskey tasting dinners will be donated to Oregon Active Foundation, a non-profit agency dedicated to providing adventure therapy to people in the Northwest community with disabilities and other life challenging conditions.

Also, attendees to these limited seating dinners will receive an admission pass to the Luna Foundation's 2nd Annual WhiskeyFest NorthWest. This festival will be held on May 9-10, 2014 at Block 15 located at NW 11th Avenue and NW Overton Street in Portland’s Pearl District. This festival will feature samplings of over 150 whiskeys and scotches, educational seminars with expert Stewart Ramsey, craft beer, a mechanical bull, cocktail competitions, a range of culinary delights from area restaurants, a VIP Speakeasy and a Prohibition Cigar Lounge. Among the live music acts featured will include Robert Randolph & The Family Band, The Stone Foxes, The Slide Brothers, Poor Old Shine, and Country Lips.

The festival runs on Friday, May 9 from 4:00pm to 9:00pm and Saturday, May 10 from 12:00pm to 9:00pm. General Admission tickets are $25 per day or $40 for 2-day pass. These pre-sale tickets includes 3 tasting tokens per day. Also one can purchase a 2-Day VIP pass for $150. The Whiskey Tasting Dinners cost $125 to $150 per dinner and include a pass to the festival.
