Starting September 23-29, Sofitel Los Angeles at Beverly Hills will dedicate a week to French wine and food. It's a great opportunity for anyone to try some unique wines from various regions of France and learn about their heritage.
The event kicks off Monday, September 23rd with a private opening reception in Riviera 31 Bar | Lounge with live performances by “Paris Chansons” and “Cabaret Versatile,” exclusive wine flights, happy hour, and food pairings created just for this event by Executive Chef Marius Blin. In Estérel restaurant, a Mediterranean offering, Chef Blin will offer a new menu each night complementing the wines covering numerous regions and locales beginning with Champagne, then Bordeaux, and continuing through the week with Burgundy, Cote du Rhone, and Sancerre. Some of the wines include domaine Dourthe Sauvignon Blanc, Louis Jadot Chablis, Cote du Rhone Parallele 45, Sancerre Pascale Jolivet and Chateau Pey Latour Rose.
There will also be menu pairings with the wines including California Oyster and Yellowtail, Petite Radish Salad, Fleur de Sel; a Crab Claw Salad with Frisée, Shaved Asparagus, Red Endive and Chive with White Wine Vinaigrette, as well as, Raviole de Royan, Crème of Garlic and Sautéed Chanterelle Mushroom.
The finale event will occur on Sunday, September 29th restaurant in a wonderful discovery of French “Art de Vivre” in a lavish Sunday brunch from 6:30 a.m. – 12:00 and from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
French Wine week will kick off each day from Monday to Sunday, a Sofitel sommelier will be on hand to guide visitors on a journey through the many wine-producing regions and favorite locales of France including Champagne, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Cote du Rhone, Sancerre and more. Guidebooks dedicated to the love of French wine, such as Bettane et Desseauve, will also be available to peruse. Guests may visit Riviera 31 for wine tastings from 6:00p.m. – 9:00 p.m. ($6-$9 a glass) and Estérel restaurant from 5:30 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. for wine pairing menus, events, and more surprises (prices are á la carte).
