Star-spangled celebrations are taking place all throughout the Los Angeles area on Friday, July 4. We’ve rounded up some of the most unique places to watch fireworks -- so you can end your day with a bang!
America’s Pastime: It’s an Independence game day as the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim take on the Houston Astros at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. Hang around for the fireworks show right after the baseball game. Tickets are up to 30% off ($18, reg. $26.50).
Big Band: Celebrate July 4 with SoCal's own Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and the Pacific Symphony at Verizon Wireless Amphitheater in Irvine. The outdoor concert promises an U.S. Armed Forces salute and fireworks finale. Discounted tickets range from $20-$40 (reg. $25-$85).
Country Pride: Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valenica is goin’ country for the Fourth with a pyrotechnics show set to patriotic music. Plus, Scotty McCreery performs on Saturday, July 5. The fireworks show and concert are free with paid park admission or a season pass. Single-day tickets are $42.99 (reg. $69.99 at the gate).
Star-Spangled Waterfront: Head to the boardwalk in Newport Beach to celebrate the Fourth with rides, games and the Ferris wheel at Balboa Fun Zone ($22 for two, reg. $45). You and your family will easily have an up-close view of the city’s fireworks display.
Patriotic Theme Parks: After a full day of rides and adventure, the big theme parks will celebrate with big patriotic displays. Both LEGOLAND California in Carlsbad ($99 for five-day resort hopper pass) and Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park (Ride & Slide Combo passes: adults $59, reg. $98; kids/seniors $41, reg. $59) will host evening fireworks extravaganzas.
Don’t forget to wear your red, white and blue. We’d love to see you celebrating America's birthday. Tweet us your pictures at @lesleynagy or @travelzoo.
