Celebrating Earth Day, April 22, Panera Bread Café shows their support for “Saving the Earth” by offering coffee tumblers and free coffee.

“It is our hope that by offering eco-friendly coffee tumblers to our customers it will start the conversation about ways to make better choices to promote a more sustainable future and enable us to give back to the communities we serve,” said Craig Flom, President of Breads of the World LLC, franchisee of Panera Bread in Southwest Ohio.

Panera Bread kicks off Earth Day celebrations now through May 15 by supporting local non-profit Green Umbrella in the Cincinnati area and Dayton Regional Green 3 and Greater Dayton Partners for the Environment in Dayton.

Southwest Ohio Panera Bread bakery-cafes will be selling branded eco-friendly coffee tumblers to raise awareness about the need to take care of the environment by reducing waste. While supplies last, net proceeds from branded Panera Bread coffee tumbler sales will be donated to Green Umbrella in Cincinnati and Dayton Regional Green 3 and Greater Dayton Partners for the Environment in Dayton.

In celebration of Earth Day, coffee tumblers will be on sale for $10 at Southwest Ohio bakery-cafes. Those who purchase a tumbler will also receive, unlimited free brewed coffee refills through the month of April. There is a limited supply of coffee tumblers available for purchase.

Panera Bread bakery-cafes will give away used coffee grounds to interested customers for use in gardens and compost bins in an effort to reduce their waste stream. To find participating Panera Bread bakery-cafes in Southwest Ohio, visit www.panera-ohio.com.
