Celebrate Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Monday, January 21, 2013 is the official day of observance and celebration for the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. King was one of the pioneers of the civil rights movement, his belief that one day all people would be treated equal still impacts our lives every day in many positive ways. Every year we honor Dr. King, his dream of equality, hard work, and dedication on a national level. One way Colorado celebrates is by holding its annual Marade (March/Parade). Monday morning participate in celebrating the man and his legacy by taking part in the Martin Luther King Jr. annual Marade. The Marade will begin at 9am in Denver’s City Park and participants will march to Civic Center Park where a rally will be held to commemorate Dr. King’s life. On Monday, January 21, 2013, The National Western Stock Show will host its Martin Luther King Jr. African-American Heritage Rodeo. This event highlights the heritage of America’s black cowboy, watch as African-American cowboys and cowgirls compete in rodeo festivities. The rodeo is one night only and it is a family event.
