For those looking to celebrate Black History Month through the month of February and beyond, look no further than your own remote. Cox Communications customers can enjoy a variety of quality educational and entertaining programming thanks to On DEMAND and local channel Cox 11 Hampton Roads.
"Cox Connections" and "Hot Ticket" will feature local Black History highlights from Hampton University's Black History Month calendar, Virginia Arts Festival, The Hurrah Players and The Urban League of Hampton Roads. In addition to the local programming, three movie collections will highlight some of the best films helmed by African American actors, directors and writers. The collections include Black Directors, Black Cinema and Tyler Perry. Popular titles from the collections include the award winning films Precious, Do The Right Thing and Amistad. Recent favorites such as Sparkle and Alex Cross are available as well.
For music lovers, Music Choice will present “The New Classic” and “Our Past Is Our Future,” two programs that celebrate influential African-American artists of the past (Diana Ross, James Brown) as well as the present (Beyonce, Babyface) and how it will shape the future of music.
