What goes better with a long, hot summer than a cold, frosty brew? If you can't think of a good answer, than you're in luck!
Tickets are now on sale for Tampa Theatre’s BeerFest 2014. “Beer and Loathing in Las Vegas” is scheduled for Saturday, July 12, and will feature craft beers and local brewers, plus snacks and samples from some of Tampa’s top independent restaurants.
Previous beer-soaked, tongue-in-cheek themes have included “The Brews Brothers” and “The Big Lebrewski.” Returning BeerFest event co-chairs Michelle Baker, General Manager of The Refinery, and Veronica Danko, owner of The Independent Bar and Café, promise that “Beer and Loathing in Las Vegas” will feature enough oddball antics and outlandish fun to do its 1998 namesake film proud. Though the lineup for this year’s event is still forming, past participants have included The Independent, The Refinery, Cigar City Brewing and the Saint Somewhere Brewing Company.
And in classic Hunter S. Thompson fashion, there’s “the good stuff” and then there’s “the really good stuff.” A limited-capacity premium sampling begins at 7:00 p.m., and tickets are $70 in advance. Grand sampling ticket-holders pay $45, and mix in at 8 p.m. At 10 p.m., BeerFest 2014 becomes nothing but a hallucinogenic memory.
Tampa Theatre members save $5 off advance ticket prices, and any remaining tickets sold day-off will be $80 for Premium level and $55 for Grand. Tickets are available at the Tampa Theatre Box Office or online ($3 convenience fee applies).
Patrons are encouraged to dress as their favorite character or come in a “Loathing”-inspired costume.
