Celebrate artists Claude Monet and Georgia O'Keeffe, born in November

This month is a great time to visit the St. Louis Art Museum as artists Claude Monet and Georgia O'Keeffe were both born in November.  Claude Monet was born on November 14, 1840; and artist Georgia O'Keeffe was born on November 15, 1887.

Plan your trip to the museum to see examples of these great works of art.  When you leave the museum, take extra note of the lake at the bottom of Art Hill.  In the summer, if you rent a paddle boat, you'll paddle by a bridge that is similar to Monet's Bride Over A Pond Of Water Lillies.  If you find the November temperatures in St. Louis to be a bit too brisk for a walk or paddle boat ride, take a drive around Forest Park to spot works of true-to-life art.

This is only the beginning of what could prove to be a very fascinating study of the artists and their works of art:

Did you know that Georgia O'Keeffe was a teacher assistant?

Did you know that she was a pioneer in her field for women?

Did you know that the term "Impressionism" is derived from one of Monet's works of art?
