Tampa Bay Black Heritage Festival (TBBHF/The Festival) will be commemorating once again Black Heritage month including Martin Luther King with ten days of cultural events that feature speakers, musicians, artists, poets and crafts.
The Festival with this year's theme Celebrating the Heart and Soul of Tampa Bay begins Wednesday, January 16 and ends Saturday the 26th with different activities planned throughout Tampa Bay. It traditionally begins the weekend before and concludes the weekend after Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s holiday to promote diversity and culture providing children and adults an opportunity to increase their awareness of African and African-American culture and history.

Heritage Gala - Featuring Stogie Kenyetta as “Paul Robeson” at the Straz Center, 1010 North W.C. MacInnes Place. Dinner and reception starts at 6:30 p.m., tickets $45 available for purchase at Straz Center.
Saturday, January 19
5K Walk for Health - In memory of Felecia Wintons - Taylor at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, 600 N Ashley Drive. Walk starts at 7 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. Register online at 5K Walk for Health.
Heritage Street Festival - Old School Saturday featuring recording artists ConFunkShun, Klymaxx, DeAndre Brackensick from American Idol, local live entertainment, arts, crafts, food, vendors and villages at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, 600 N Ashley Drive starting at 10:30 a.m.
Let’s Goooooooo Skate Party - Featuring DJ Jammin from Philadelphia Skateworld at Skateworld, 7510 Paula Drive in Tampa from 11 p.m. to 3 a.m.
