Celeb-worthy unconventional facial masks

Oh, the prep work that goes into the days before big events like award shows. Not all celebrities go through the same rituals, but it's pretty safe to say each routine consists of scrubbing, moisturizing, tanning, filing, painting, coloring, and smothering skin-perfecting masks on one's face.

Speaking of masks, there are tons of options to chose from: homemade, drugstore, high end, and spa versions are all great, but most conventional face masks are cream or gel products that are smeared onto the skin. Most clay-based masks tend to harden, crack, and crumble, leaving skin uncomfortable and stiff in the process.

Enter Bella Semplice, a company that makes face masks that are actual masks: sheets that lay over the skin with eye, nose, and mouth holes cut out. Honestly, they're kind of creepy looking and feel slimy, cold, and squishy like you'd imagine a jellyfish to feel. You may need to warn your family before you put one of these babies on your face. Unconventional looks aside, these masks are incredible. From DIY masks to high end super expensive masks, you'll be hard pressed to find a mask that will give you instant results like the Bella Semplice masks do.

The Bella Semplice 24K Gold Facial Mask claims to "stimulate collagen, promotes even skin tone, builds elasticity, stimulates cell regeneration, moisturizes, improves circulation, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, detoxifies, and adds a youthful glow." I had my mom test this one out, and her skin looked so smooth, soft, and hydrated after one use. I personally love the Lotus Facial Mask, which is brand new, not even listed on the site yet. I've used the mask twice (popped it in the fridge and turned the mask over for the second time) and both times had smooth, supple, plump, and hydrated skin.

The Bella Semplice Facial Masks feel amazing because of their cooling nature and smell gorgeous. If celebs don't know about these masks, they definitely need to hear about them. Skip a trip to the spa, pop on one of these masks, and catch up on the latest episode of The Vampire Diaries. Ah, the perfect night...
