Cee Lo Green sued: Singer failed to perform Christmas concerts

Singer and "Voice" star Cee Lo Green is being sued for allegedly not keeping up his side of an agreement to perform several Christmas concerts. Concert promoter Cierra Management Group believes they may have been scammed out of the money given for the appearances which never happened.

A report from TMZ via Softpedia indicates that the promoters fronted $100,000 each for twelve different scheduled Christmas concerts. Apparently, the organizers were going to pass on the concerts due to it being such a high amount of money, but Cee Lo's people reportedly kept making the offer more attractive, to the point the organizers just couldn't say no.

TMZ says of the arrangement:

"Cee Lo's peeps went back and proposed to slash XMAS in half and do 6 days at $100k each, but it was still too rich for Cierra's blood. So, according to the lawsuit, Cierra was offered a bargainbasement Yuletide proposition – 2 concerts for a total of $243,000 including expenses."

The offers were made back in November 2011. However, despite such a sweet deal, the shows never went on, yet the money was still given in exchange for the expected concerts. Now Cierra Management Group is suing for $14.2 million. While Cee Lo is not considered part of the whole "conspiracy" that his people allegedly arranged, he is still part of the suit for "refusing to perform the 2 concerts." Neither Cee Lo, nor his team have yet to respond to the allegations or lawsuit.

Cee Lo Green served as a judge on NBC's singing competition show, "The Voice," from seasons 1 through 3. The singer is reportedly working on his own sitcom for the network which he will star in as well.
