CeeLo Green, star of “The Voice” and singer, allegedly slipped ecstasy into a woman’s drink, according to the charges filed against him in court on Monday. CeeLo Green, whose real name is Thomas DeCarlo Callaway, is facing one felony count of furnishing a controlled substance, according to ABC News on Oct. 21.
The D.A.’s office said that Green allegedly slipped ecstasy into a woman’s drink back in July while having dinner with a woman known only as “Anna M.” Green and the woman went back to her hotel room.
The claims of rape of an intoxicated person made by the woman were unfounded and the prosecutor did not find enough evidence to charge Green.
Green entered a not guilty plea to the drug charge and was ordered by the judge to report to a sheriff’s station for booking within 24 hours. He is also due back in court at 8:30 a.m. on Nov. 20. He had a bond agent with him to handle the $30,000 bond, so Green could go home.
It is tough when a celebrity is accused of this type of crime because when all is said and done, it is usually a lawsuit that surfaces in the end. Because of the possibility of a big payday from a celebrity lawsuit, you can’t help but wonder if the case is more about getting a big pay day or is it something the celebrity really did.
