Cee-Lo Green announces he will not return to 'The Voice'

Cee-Lo Green told Ellen DeGeneres Tuesday that he does not plan to return to The Voice. He told DeGeneres that he does not want to wear out his welcome with The Voice and he has many other things he wants to do. Green told Ellen that he is almost done with his album and hasn’t released one for nearly four years.

Cee-Lo Green has participated as a coach during four out of the five previous seasons of The Voice. He does however plan to continue his relationship with NBC. He claims that he and NBC have a television show development deal together. Cee-Lo Green is hopeful that there will be some talk show opportunities in his future as well.

The President for the NBC Entertainment, Paul Telegdy, states that Cee-Lo Green contributed to the success of The Voice and his contributions are deeply appreciated. Telegdy says that everyone is looking forward to working with Green on some upcoming projects that will combine his entertainment and musical expertise. February 24 will begin the sixth season of The Voice. The coaches for this new season will be Blake Shelton and Adam Levine, along with Shakira and Usher who will be replacing Cee-Lo Green and Christina Aguilera.
