Cee Lo Green will not be returning to "The Voice." The entertainer just announced that his latest departure from the competition show will be a sort of "forever" thing because he has no plans to come back. On Feb. 19, Gossip Cop reported that Cee Lo broke the news on "Ellen"
"I don’t want to wear out my welcome there… I have so many other things that I want to do. I haven’t released an album in four years. I'm almost done with my album. I'm going to continue my relationship with NBC. I have a television show development deal with them as well and hopefully some other talk show opportunities for later in the year," Cee Lo told Ellen DeGeneres (via Gossip Cop).
Cee Lo Green didn't have much luck on "The Voice" and he has never "won" a season. However, people really liked him on the show -- his fun outfits and quirky vocabulary always had people talking... in a good way. While being on a show like "The Voice" is demanding (ask Christina Aguilera -- she has taken two seasons off), it is rewarding. However, Cee Lo doesn't feel like he fits anymore and that's his prerogative.
Cee Lo will undoubtedly be missed but his "stand-in" has done a pretty good job so far. At this point, however, it's unclear whether or not Usher will turn into a permanent fixture with Blake Shelton and Adam Levine.
Are you sad to hear that Cee Lo Green is leaving "The Voice" for good? Do you want Usher to sign on for future seasons? Who would you like to see as a mentor on the show?
