A Cedartown woman is facing felony charges in Floyd County for allegedly swindling more than $21,000 from a Rome business where she was employed as an accountant; according to Floyd County Jail reports.
Elizabeth Sue Mitchell, age 46, of Cedartown was arrested on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 and charged with theft by taking and felony theft by deception.
Mitchell allegedly took $21,148.08 from the "Georgia Dog Gym” between January 1, 2010, and January 1, 2011. She also wrote personal checks to purchase items from the business but never deposited the personal checks.
The Georgia Dog Gym located at 35 Fred Kelley Road in Rome, GA.; provides dog training, puppy training and boot camp services. Owner and Head Trainer Cyndy Douan is the Past President and a founding member of the International Association of Canine Professionals.
In July of 2011, Mitchell was arrested and charged with two counts of burglary for allegedly stealing coins and jewelry from a Padgett Road residence according to Floyd County jail dockets.
