A Cedartown woman was among three women arrested in an undercover prostitution sting operation in Rome last night. The three women were arrested for offering sexual favors to undercover police officers for money.
Lorie Jane Ponder, age 22, listed 238 Maple Drive in Cedartown as her address was arrested last night and charged with misdemeanor prostitution and felony possession of crack cocaine. Ponder has a property bond of $1350.00 for the prostitution charge. Bond is pending for the crack cocaine charge.
Two Rome women were also arrested early this morning as part of the same sting operation. Those arrests were in the area of Turner McCall Boulevard and Ninth Street.
Kelly Diamond, age 33 of a Woodward Street address was arrested and charged with misdemeanor misdemeanor prostitution, felony possession of cocaine and has a probation hold.
Niecey Sims, age 47, of a 4th Avenue address was arrested and charged with misdemeanor prostitution and has a property bond of $1350.00
The prostitution stings are part of a regular round up operation by the Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force.
All parties are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. Not every arrest/charge leads to a conviction. A conviction or acquittal is determined by the court system.
