Elree Cox Jr., 68, was arrested twice last week on charges of child molestation, sexual battery, first degree cruelty to children, manufacturing marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime and possession of cocaine.
Cox was taken into custody yesterday on the additional charges resulting from the ongoing investigation. He remains in custody with no bond set at the time of this publication.
According to Georgia law, a person commits the offense of sodomy when he or she performs or submits to any sexual act involving the sex organs of one person and the mouth or anus of another.
A person commits the offense of aggravated sodomy when he or she commits sodomy with force and against the will of the other person or when he or she commits sodomy with a person who is less than ten years of age.
A person commits the offense of aggravated sexual battery when he or she intentionally penetrates with a foreign object the sexual organ or anus of another person without the consent of that person.
