Roy Lee Mitchell Jr., 50, of Cedartown was arrested at his home on Thursday, August 15 and charged with aggravated child molestation, sexual battery and enticing a child for indecent purposes. Mitchell was released on 8/18 after posting three property bonds totaling $60,100.
Aggravated child molestation is when a person commits an offense of child molestation which act physically injures the child or involves an act of sodomy. A person commits the offense of sexual battery when he or she intentionally makes physical contact with the intimate parts of the body of another person without the consent of that person. A person commits the offense of enticing a child for indecent purposes when he or she solicits, entices, or takes any child under the age of 16 years to any place whatsoever for the purpose of child molestation or indecent acts
