Cedartown High School student killed in auto accident

A Cedartown High School senior was killed in an auto accident this morning on Collard Valley Road near Clyde Street.

Three students, two males and one female were involved in the one car accident as they were on the way to school this morning. The female was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. The two male students are being treated at Polk Medical center for non life-threatening injuries.

The accident took the life of 17-year-old CHS senior Kari Macedo.

Counselors have been called in to help the students who are upset and students are allowed to call their parents if needed.

The Cedartown Police Department along with the Georgia State Patrol's Serious Crash Reconstruction Team is investigating the crash scene.
