Cedars Food Park at Dallas Heritage Village will hold a grand opening party Saturday, July 28 from 5 p.m.-10 p.m. Celebrate with live music by The Sicklies, free admission and parking, beer and wine from local establishments, and a wide variety of delicious foods. Pets are welcome, too!
Dallas has taken full advantage of this growing food truck trend and found the perfect setting for a permanent food truck venue. Beginning Saturday, the Dallas Heritage Village will become home to the food park. This 20-acre, late 19th century village houses the largest collection of 19th century pioneer and Victorian homes and commercial buildings in Texas and will now feature Dallas’s finest food trucks for the grand opening and beyond.
The mobile eateries include: Good Karma Kitchen, Nammi, Ruthie’s Rolling Café, 4 Seasons, Ssahm BBQ, Three Lions, Rock N Roll Taco, Jack’s Chowhound, Gandolfo’s, The Butcher’s Son, Crazy Fish, Café Con Leche, Free Wheel’n Café, Cajun Tailgaters, Rockin’ Ricks, Coolhaus, Uptown Popcorn, Rockstar Bakeshop, Enticed, and Dude Sweet Chocolate.
Expect to pay between $2 and $9 for food, with a portion of the proceeds benefiting the Dallas Heritage Village. For this event, if you keep your food truck receipt on hand you will be offered free tours of the buildings.
Following Saturday’s grand opening bash, the park officially opens Wednesday, August 1 for lunch, while dinner and beer starts Thursday, August 16. The number of food trucks will be cut to about six, and will have rotating appearances for plenty of dining options.
There will be lots of shaded areas to help you keep cool, so pull up to a picnic table, enjoy your favorite dishes, and help Dallas welcome it’s very first food truck venue in its own park setting.
