Cecil Field gets spaceport grant

Cecil Field is among four recipients of grants to develop and expand commercial space transportation infrastructure projects from the FAA.

Space Transportation Infrastructure matching grants will also be awarded to projects in Alaska, California and New Mexico.

The funding represents the first-ever spaceport grants for enhancing commercial space activities. FAA’s Office of Commercial Space Transportation will manage the announced grants.

The Jacksonville Aviation Authority will get $104,805 to develop a spaceport master plan.
