CEC Men's retreat 2013

In early February, the Charismatic Episcopal Church held its 2013 men's retreat. Members from Holy Apostles (in Westminster), Good Shepherd (Catonsville), Reconciliation (Bel Air) and others from Petersburg, VA all came to Middle Creek Bible Conference Center in Fairfield, PA.

Deacon Keith Libolt from Christ the King in New Paltz, NY was the guest teacher. He taught about commitment and courage. He encouraged us to sacrifice on the altar of Christ.

People are made to worship--to offer sacrifice on some altar. If we do not worship the One God, we will worship something else--sports, knowledge, etc. When God calls you to obedience, one must sacrifice time and talent in the economy of God's kingdom. There is also time needed to be re-created.

Keith gave his personal testimony working in ministry. He gave practical and spiritual encouragement of how to reach out to those seeking. It takes courage, time and commitment in building relationships. Christianity is not purely an academic exercise, but something we participate in.

There was time for teaching, praise, celebrating the Eucharist, prayer, and fellowship. It was an edifying time.
