CDFA teams up with NFL and Bloomingdales for couture helmet auction

How often does fashion go hand in hand with football? Aside from the rare case of well known fashion designers creating cheerleader and dancer wardrobes, there's not much talk of runway style mixed in with tackles and touchdowns. Bloomingdale's is looking to change that. The department store has teamed up with the Council of Fashion Designers of America and the National Football League to create unique fantasy football helmets for auction.

The couture helmets were designed by hand selected fashion designers, including Betsey Johnson, Vince Camuto, Tadashi Shoji, Billy Reid, Diane von Furstenberg, and other well known names in the designer industry, and are available for auction through February 4th, 2014. The designs range from dainty with florals to dark and elegant styles. 48 helmets are up for auction at , and the proceeds of the auction will go to the NFL Foundation. The NFL Foundation focuses on improving safety and health of youth football and various communities. These pieces make for great fashion souvenirs for both fashionistas and football lovers.
