Just when you though there couldn’t possibly be another show dedicated to college football, CBS Sports Network is launching a new one-hour show titled “Fast Football” on Tuesday, Aug. 27 from 5 to 6 p.m. The theme is “examining the landscape of college football with a focus on the speed and innovation that impacts the game regularly and also dictates the action on the field.”
Brent Stover will be the host with a panel that includes Tony Barnhart, Bruce Feldman, Jeremy Fowler and various guest coaches and analysts.
“Fast Football” joins the CBS sports cable channel’s lineup along with “Inside College Football”, “Tackling the Trends”, “SEC Tonight”, “This Week in SEC Football” and the “Lemming Report” to give the diehard pigskin fan more than enough fodder to digest each week.
The schedule for each show follows:
“Fast Football” (Tuesdays, 5:00-6:00 p.m.)
“Inside College Football” (Tuesdays, 7:00-9:00 p.m.; Thursday, 7:00-8:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m.-12:00 Midnight)
“Tackling the Trends” (Wednesdays, 9:00-9:30 p.m.)
“This Week in SEC Football” (Fridays, 7:30-8:30 p.m.)
“Lemming Report” (Fridays, 7:00-7:30 p.m.)
“SEC Tonight” (Saturdays at 7:00 or 7:30 p.m.)
USF fans will be glad to know that they can follow their Bulls on CBS Sports Network which has acquired the rights to telecast college football and basketball games in the American Athletic Conference. Formerly in the Big East, USF is now in the AAC. CBS Sports Network, in a unique agreement with ESPN will begin airing games in the AAC during the upcoming college basketball season.
The deal calls for 25 men’s basketball games the first year and 30 per season after that through 2019-20. CBS Sports Network also will carry between 13 and 15 college football games in the conference beginning in 2014.
The American Athletic Conference includes USF along with UCF, Univ. of Cincinnati, Connecticut, Houston, Louisville, Memphis Rutgers, SMU and Temple. East Carolina and Tulane will join in 2014-15. The Naval Academy joins in 2015 for football only.
