CBS renews 'The Big Bang Theory' for three more seasons

After holding out for salary negotiations, CBS happily announced, yesterday March 12, that once again they are renewing "The Big Bang Theory" for another three years. This will keep them safe through the 2016-2017 season. The last time CBS renewed "The Big Bang Theory", it too was for three seasons that put it safe until this season.

Fans were holding their breath for this news since the stars were holding out for larger salaries. At this time, Mayim Bialik and Melissa Rauch, who play Amy and Bernadette, have signed their new deals $60,000 per-episode with increases each year.

The three leads, Jim Parsons, Kaley Cuoco, and Johnny Galecki are currently getting paid $300,000 per episode while holding out for a $200,000 raise to $500,000 while Simon Helberg and Kunal Nayyar get $125,000 and $75,000 and are looking for more as well. We are assuming that the salary negotiations were met successfully with these five.

Nina Tassler, chairman of CBS Entertainment, said, “Comedy is a big part of our schedule, and "The Big Bang Theory" is the biggest comedy force on television. This multi-year deal further strengthens our network’s position for future seasons and marks another chapter in the great partnership CBS enjoys with Warner Bros. Television for delivering audiences the best in comedy. We’re proud to work with and showcase the incredible talents of Chuck Lorre, Steve Molaro and this amazing cast every week.”

At this time "the Big Bang Theory" is still number one in its category and is still bringing in 19.79 million viewers per week.
