CBS has just announced today, Dec. 6 that they are going forward with yet another new "NCIS" spin off, this one taking place in New Orleans. "NCIS: New Orleans" has began casting calls and it will be set to air spring of 2014.
The show will have NCIS showrunner Gary Glasberg and series star Mark Harmon as executive producers. The casting calls are for 3 special agents and a doctor of "any ethnicity".
The special agents are to consist of a 50 year old male described as "charismatic and full of life, a man who savors every moment but can be rock-solid and strong when needed. He’s stubborn, direct, physical, determined, no-nonsense and incredibly astute".
There will also be two 30 something male and female characters that are special agents. They are described as "handsome and sexy, born-and-bred Louisiana, lean and muscular, a former Sheriff’s deputy who’s been through some rough times and is determined to bounce back. Tough, clever, devilish, charming, sweet and raw" and the female as "from the Great Lakes office, full of insights, no nonsense, put together, a government employee façade on an Ivy League mind, Brody is Grace Kelly-like in her class, pomp and circumstance. She’s unpredictable, passionate, dedicated, loyal, surprising, hot, funny, fierce, generous, secretive, vulnerable and, above all, determined to be the best female agent NCIS has ever known."
And there will be a doctor on board here too. She is described as in her 40's and outspoken and seriously on her game. She’s often intentionally full of contradictions. She’s odd, eccentric, with a sense of humor, void of social boundaries, and loves college football. She also doesn't give herself enough credit for still being quite a looker.
So, what do you think of this line up? Earlier this year they were priming for "NCIS: Red" and it fell through. What do you think the likelyhood of this show actually coming to fruition?
Would you watch it?
